Think pink, drink pink – the lads of Adelaide are shouting the next round!

In support of the Flinders Medical Centre Foundation, Adelaide’s leading men are taking the care of women’s breasts into their own hands. Lewis and Lowe (Nova 919), Fraser Evans, John Hinge and Matthew Duldig (Sturt Football Club), Adelaide United players, Cosi (Channel 9) and Georgie (X Factor) are pairing up each Friday night in October to raise money for breast cancer research. The lads will be shouting cocktails and leading fundraising activities as part of the annual BrasOn for BrasOff campaign.

The Highway, owned by leading hotel group, The Palmer Hospitality Group, has been an avid supporter of the Flinders Medical Centre Foundation since 2009. Hosting a range of events raising over $25,000 for vital medical research and equipment for the Flinders Medical Centre (FMC), to improve the quality of life for those in need.

According to The Highway’s Marketing Coordinator, Christine McAuliffe, the FMC Foundation is an organization close to the staff’s heart at The Highway; three of the staff’s lives have been changed by breast cancer in one way or another over recent months.

"With so many staff being affected by breast cancer and benefiting from the research conducted by the FMC Foundation, we want to show our support for such a great cause." Said Ms McAuliffe.

"Due the generosity of Adelaide’s leading lads, the girls at The Highway on Fridays in October won’t go thirsty! Our goal is to raise $10,000 over the four weeks." Continued Ms McAuliffe.

Nova 919’s breakfast team, Lewis and Lowe, are excited to be involved in raising money for such a worthy cause.

"When we heard about the Highway’s event we jumped at the opportunity to be involved. Breast Cancer has affected so many people’s lives so Shane and I are more than happy to serve drinks in the name of charity! It does also help that we do love beer" Dylan Lewis said.

Deborah Heithersay, CEO of the FMC Foundation has seen the relationship between the foundation and The Highway grow over the past few years, she is delighted to see hotel developing new fundraising ideas.

"I love the quirky ideas Christine and the team come up with to raise money for the FMC Foundation and I can’t wait to meet the lads helping out this year! Every dollar they raise goes directly to research and equipment at the Flinders Medical Centre." Said Ms Heithersay.

Lewis and Lowe will be joining Fraser Evans, John Hinge, Matthew Duldig, Adelaide United Players, Cosi and Georgie on Friday nights during October at The Highway. To find out which Friday your favourite lad of Adelaide is raising money, buying drinks and for more information, visit:
